Joep's Cancer Blog

Almost 5 years since my last post

Hi all, well still here and just had another colostomy. All looks good. Still have the bag. Still cancer free according to my last scan. Feel pretty good. Bag is permanant and it looks like a possible another sugery to remove a dead part of the colon. The rest of the colon looks good. Been officially pronounced cured....whatever that means...LOL. I cant believe it has been almost 9 years since the cancer sugery, Wow, Hello to you all again and ill keep you posted.

I am happy for you. thanks for checking in on us! its been 11 years for me. I can't believe it. I thank God every day. Take care.
Its great to hear stories of long term survivors. My wife is one year NED from being stage four rectal cancer. She is debating on the long term out look of having a permanent bag in the future.

been a while

Well folks.....I miss you all. It has been a long time since my last post. My "tempoary Colo bag has now become permanent because of years of fistulas and other problems. My last scan about 11 months ago show no cancer. I am going for another coloscopy again next week. I am having trouble with my stoma herniating. Need to be repaired again. stools have become a little looser than normal and I am starting to worry. Hope the scope turns up OK.

Talk to you all after.  Joe
